Meet A Mom: Palm Beach Edition! | Western Nassau Moms

Briana Beaty is a #girlmom with three little ladies—2, 4 and 7—and the mom behind Palm Beach Moms. Planning a trip or just want to know more about living in this sunny part of Florida with kids? Get in touch with her @palmbeachmoms and read on for her favorite local recs!

What is your background and how did you decide to bring The Local Moms Network to your town?  My background is in Hospitality Management and Marketing. I am a fifth generation Floridian and love raising my littles here. I started  The Palm Beach Moms as a closed Facebook group in 2007, Palm Beach Mommas.  Instead of texting at 3 am, the group of fellow new moms could silently post questions. “Has anyone else ever…”  “Will I ever sleep again?”  “What questions should I ask when interviewing a nanny?” “I have baby items to donate, where can I drop them”  “Do you need a Nanny, message me I have a great one.”  To this day it remains a private haven for over 6,300 local moms to seek comfort, support, and advise. But much like [a] caterpillar, I felt it was time to move from our cozy safe closed cocoon to a more public space. When the gals at The Local Moms Network reached out the timing was perfect for us to share this journey.

Where should everyone eat with kids in your area? I love Flavor Palm Beach, the Restaurant Month for the Palm Beaches every September for finding new restaurants (and not just because I founded it). For dining with kids you cannot beat The Italian Restaurant at The Breakers.  For date night, Imoto in Palm Beach or Limoncello in North Palm Beach. I am a huge picnic fan so take out is my jam. AnzoChristophers Kitchen and Celis make that easy.

What’s your favorite hotel for family and friends? The Breakers or The Colony. The Breakers is bigger and you could stay on property the entire time and have a blast. The Colony is smaller but such a charmer and so kid-friendly!

Do you have a go-to drink spot?  I’m not a drinker, but I do love a fun evening out! The back bar at Coyo TacoThe Regional (below) has a great bar scene. The view from Restoration Hardware is so fun.

Where will we always find you getting a cup of coffee?

Sant Ambroeus inside with a friend and outside if with the family—the kids really enjoy playing on the beautiful lawn at The Royal.

What’s your favorite place to shop? For the kids Lil Rapunzels and Bognar & Piccolini.  For me Rapunzels because the ladies there are so helpful and know just what you are looking for. Roller Rabbit for matching family jammies and comfy every day wear.

Where do you always go with the family for entertainment? Beach, boat or pool of course! The Palm Beach Zoo (show at end), a ride on the Lakeside bike trail (pack a picnic for Bradley park or enjoy lunch at The Royal). For an indoor day we love The South Florida Science Museum, Bowlero (below) is always a crowd pleaser, and a trip on the brand new Brightline Train (shown left) to Ft. Lauderdale or Miami.

If you only have a few days, any don’t-miss attractions?  The Palm Beach Food and Wine Festival in December is always jam packed fun. The Holiday Boat Parade is a spectacle.  The Worth Avenue Tree lighting is a lovely evening.  Loggerhead Marine Life institute releases turtles back to the ocean and it is a religious experience. Climbing to the top of the Jupiter LighthouseWorth Avenue walking history tour.

What are your best time-saving tips/resources as a mom?  Prep for success! Make a calendar, plan things out and be prepared….  then be willing to go with the flow. Learning to cook and garden: they sound time-consuming but actually save time when you are comfortable whipping up a quick healthy meal, with fresh goodness the kids can snip from the garden. Having kids help with the chores; yes the front end work is more, but having helpers set and clear the table, sort the laundry, tend the garden…is rewarding on so many levels. Also, save time beating yourself up. I know your neighbor Molly has 14 kids, is the PTO president, always looks great, and actually does the things on Pinterest—but you are the best mom your kids will ever have and they think you are great. So do I.
